It was evident that Year after Year the divisions between the Hogwarts Houses was increasing, as reports from all over Magical Britain told of fights between newly graduated students due to their School House.

To Combat the Growing divides the Hogwarts Board of Governors, Hogwarts Heads of Houses and the Ministry decide to create an Exchange to take place between the students, it was argued that due to both Examination Efforts and Lingering Beginnings into the Wizarding world that the Third Year students would be the best to exchange.

This Exchange coincides with a change within Harry Potter and works to blur the lines of the school that Albus Dumbledore worked so hard to create and enforce.

What will Happen when the 'Golden Trio of Gryffindor' is separated?

Harry Potter and the New Professor: An Alternate History of Harry's Fifth Year

26 parts Complete

Ever wonder what might have happened had Fudge brought an Auror to the school for security at the end of Goblet of Fire, and not a Dementor? How would it change things? What would he do if Barty Crouch survived and not only testified to him, but to the entire Wizengamot? This story looks at how such a divergence would impact Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts, one in which Fudge is not working against him and Dumbledore but is working with them. We get a very different year, with a new professor instead of Umbridge, a new look at Snape, a closer look at international wizarding ties, and above all a very satisfactory character arc for Neville Longbottom.
