Rae lives in a world where it never stops raining. Her life consists of trying to live in the treetops of a larger than life forest to keep away from the flash floods. Rae and the rest of her village has this down to a science. Her cozy village is thrown into disarray, however, when a group of warriors arrives by boat asking for assistance in catching the mystical "Rain Thief." While the rest of her village is skeptical, and believes it impossible to steal the rain, Rae finds herself compelled to find the Rain Thief and stop him from destroying her way of life.

Grace has played Minecraft since she was seven as a family tradition. She knows practically everything there is to know about it.... and now she has to pass on that knowledge to her younger sister, Amy, too. Amy is naïve and childish most of the time, even if she can be a fast learner. But when a freak lightning storm hits right when she's showing her how, something goes terribly wrong. Runt lives in his village with his parents and his baby sister. The village is unexperienced, but Runt wants to be a warrior. Then he meets two kids who come up to the village, apparently asking for help. And Amy is just confused about how all this fits together... especially when Grace yells at a wall for finding out that magic is real. And so are wizards.
