According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves. Now imagine this happened in everyday society. This is what Echo Blaire and every single teenager reaching the age of 18 has to deal with. Branded with the initials of their Soulmate at birth, they are taught the three main rules through out their life: One... Your Soulmate is your partner, in mind, body and soul. Two... You never harm your Soulmate. Three... You have to a year to find your Soulmate starting from the moment you turn 18, or you die. Echo never wanted to find her Soulmate, She didn't want her brand at all. Her Soulmate never wanted to find her. He wanted the freedom to chose. But when faced with reality, would you rather die or give in to the irresistible pull that was there from the moment that you were born?
