It was an accident.

Or maybe it wasn't. Which is how Maggie's found herself in Lake Conifer, with her estranged and pregnant mother. But at least there nobody knows what Maggie has done.

It's the only good thing about staying with her mom. Because even Maggie doesn't want to remember what she did. When she befriends teenage-mother Jayla and quiet, friendly Miles, suddenly she starts to think maybe everyone deserves a second chance-including herself.

But then Jensen is in Lake Conifer, in the restaurant her stepfather owns, on the exact day Maggie is working. It seems like fate, or a joke. But nothing is funny when his presence means she owes everyone answers. Like what she did to Alice.

Now at the end of the summer, with college approaching quickly, Maggie has another chance to pick up and leave it all behind. But with her relationships suddenly on the line, all she wants to do is stay. Even if that means facing the truth.

Warning: Mature Content. Outside, it was cold and breezy, with those familiar night stars that twinkled above us years ago. We walked side by side along the little path that ran across the gigantic grassy park at the center of campus. I held my breath every time my swinging hand brushed his, hoping to feel his warm palm in mine again. I just wanted more with him, but I knew it was wishful thinking. So I buried it. I buried it with the silence and the distant looks. I desperately wanted us to go back to being friends, before all the feelings showed up, before he embarrassed me in front of half the school by dismissing any chance at us being together. ~o~ Evelyn Martinez has had her heart broken exactly once, by Liam Saunders. But that was over a year ago, so it shouldn't bother her when she sees him with his best friend, Mason Van der Gelt, in the busy dining hall on her university...right? Her best friend, Harper Green, decides to take the situation into her own hands by fulfilling the promise she had given Evelyn the year before, that if she ever met him, she'd break his heart. An eye for an eye. Operation Dickbag's Heartbreak. Yet, as the plan proceeds, Evelyn starts to date Mason, almost falling for his charm and sincerity. Almost. Her heart was still Liam's, no matter how damaged it may be. This proves to be a problem when Harper falls for him as well. Everything changes when Liam reveals his own feelings and the truth behind why he hurt Ev. Commitments and loyalty become a house of cards in a hurricane as truths start to spill, leaving their chances at happiness to hang by a thread. Fair warning, there are detailed sex scenes and a shit ton of cursing.

Morgan is going back to school, again. It's time to get cooking, and Morgan is on her third attempt at getting her life together. She's determined to win the cooking competition, leave her mother's house of sin, and take her brother, Peter, with her. Morgan is fed up with supplementing her mother's habits and being taken advantage of. All she wants now is to fight for the future she deserves. Confronting her mistakes, and accepting the things, and people, she cannot change is a harrowing thing to do when you're also tasked with caring for someone who can't defend themselves. With the stakes of a better life and a chance at freedom so close at hand, she does not have time to fool around or get distracted yet, there is something about Nikolai that makes her feel safe enough to talk about her problems and surprisingly, he reciprocates that sentiment by discussing his troubles. Having someone by her side that she can relate to and be open with, doesn't seem so bad. But what if that someone is revealed to be a Professor!? Just wait until Rebecca hears about this, surely trouble is bound to happen.
