"Are you afraid, my wee human?"

"Will you hurt me?"

"No, Ailsa. I swear to you I will never harm you. I'd rather die than lay a hand on you."

"Then there's nothing more to discuss."

In 18th century Scotland, a romance blooms in a dark prison cell

Laird Fraser MacLeod is no normal man. In fact, he isn't a man at all. He is a creature bound to the night that feasts on the blood of men.

He's lured to the Sinclair clan under the impression there will be a truce between the two lairds, instead he's captured and tortured for being the monster he is.

A vampire.

What he doesn't expect is the wee slip of a lass that sneaks down to his cell for nightly visits. She talks to him, reads him books, brings food, and soothes the darkest pieces of his soul.

Ailsa Sinclair has enough problems of her own. She's ailed with a disease that can not be cured, the daily attacks on her lungs are nearly too much.

Little does she know that not only will the mysterious bearded man she visits get her in trouble, but that he'll change her life forever.

He might not have been struck with a sword or pushed down stairs, but the woman who stole money from their clan killed him as surely as she'd stabbed a knife through his heart. And McWilliam has vowed he'll to do anything to bring her to justice, even if it means breaking the law...and his own heart. After Miss Rosa Blair receives a letter threatening her cousin's life if Rosa doesn't confess to a crime she didn't commit, she doesn't hesitate to turn herself over to the authorities. That is, until one bull-headed Scotsman the size of a bear kidnaps her in the name of justice. McWilliam is insufferable, refusing to listen to her pleas of innocence. Nothing she says will convince him her cousin is in mortal danger. Rosa knows McWilliam is standing between her and freedom. McWilliam knows Rosa is a thief and a liar. At every turn they clash, so why do they keep finding themselves locked in each other's arms? _________________ 'I rarely find books on wattpad that COMPEL me to comment and I stayed up all night to read this. ***HIGHEST RANKING IN VAMPIRE*** #3 - 26-9-2018 #4 - 13-8-2018 and 23-09-2018 #5 - 29-8-2018 and 5-9-2018 "What happened?" It's all I can muster at this stage but I figure it's a place to start. "You had a head injury and passed out. I cleaned you up and put you in here to rest." His voice is now calm, much different to what I heard from the other room. "You said you cleaned me up. Did you also change my clothes?" I recall his words and am almost too shocked to ask about his invasion of my privacy. A devilish smile crosses his lips as he coyly looks at his feet. He is enjoying my embarrassment. "You're clothes had blood on them and I wasn't about to put you in a clean bed with dirty clothes on. Trust me; you have nothing I haven't seen before." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vampires are real and after an eternity of hiding, they have chosen to let the world know of their existence. But when they emerged from the shadows, they were met with hostility and discernment. It wasn't long until they were segregated from humans and forced to live in Vampire Only areas while the rest of the world went on with their lives. Fed up with this malicious arrangement, the vampires waged a war on mankind and came out the victors. Mankind were forced to retreat behind concrete walls designed to keep vampires at bay and this is where they stayed for decades. Evie is a human that has just fallen victim to a trap set by vampires so that she can be used as a source of food or even a plaything for a high bidding vampire. But to her bewilderment, she is taken to Alex. A dangerous and high ranking vampire that enjoys toying with his victims. Knowing how precarious this vampire is, Evie still can't shake the feeling that his striking blue eyes are reminiscent of something but what. But what lengths will she go to find out more about him and every other vampire? I guess it's true what they say. Opposites really do attract.

WARNING: EXCERPT ONLY! "And you smell delicious too." He whispered beside my ear. "Like honey and cinnamon were mixed to create a scent so irresistible. Do you know these two combined are great for the immune system?" He hummed against my neck, sending goosebumps all over my skin. "Fuck you." I managed to get out, glancing at him behind me. I felt his lips tilt up in a smile against my neck before he moved up to nibble at my earlobe. "That'll be nice." He chuckled in a deep sexy voice that rumbles from his chest to my body. "But some other time. Now..." His hot tongue comes out to lap at my neck in slow strokes. I bit down on my bottom lip to stop the moan that was about to break free. "I'm hungry." He darkly announced. Jocelyn, born from a witch family, had no powers making her an outcast among witches. She is determined to make it through life on her own, but then she runs into Sebastian, a vampire who develops a sudden interest in her and has a strange addiction to her blood. An Unexpected Life

28 parts Complete Mature

Isabel's life was turned upside down with one decision. She had been living rather a peaceful, albeit boring, life with her grandparents on the edge of the Scottish Highlands when a fateful land trade occurred and she was brought into a world that she never imagined. Isabel, now with the nickname Isla, finds herself in a whole new village, learning a new language, new world views, new traditions, and dealing with new emotions. --------------------------------- Laird Lachland MacNichol was tired. While he was only in his late 20s, he had spent most of his adult life picking up the mess that was left to him by his incompetent father. Not only had he reestablished their clans control of the Isle of Skye, he'd accidentally found himself with families under his protection on the mainland. While this made his old clan families proud of their newfound strength and connections, it had also gained the attention of other lairds in the area. Now, he had to pull in extra help from the new families to prepare for an onslaught of visitors from all ranks. Little did Lachlan know that his actions had put more into play than he realized and the laird's life was about to be changed in ways he could not imagine. (Very loosely set in the Scottish Highlands before the English impact the region too much - will revise someday to fix historical inaccuracies and make the timeline more concrete)
