Emerson Buckley has never taken the easy path.

But a few months in, Emerson realized she wanted something more. Something faster. Something that mattered in the moment. So she changed her path and became a paramedic. By twenty, Emerson had already earned her place at the 118. Now, six years later, at twenty-six, the station feels more like home than anywhere else ever has. Even with new faces and a constantly changing crew, she finally feels like she belongs.

That sense of stability is shaken the day her twin brother, Evan Buckley, walks into the station wearing a firefighter uniform. Suddenly, Emerson isn't just balancing the chaos of emergency calls-she's dealing with her reckless twin working beside her every day. And worse? His best friend.
