Henry's very preoccupied by a droplet of water snaking down Ray's right pec and doesn't answer the question, which is a massive mistake, because Ray leans in very, very close, eyes huge and heavy cerulean.
"Henry? You okay?"
Too close, Henry's thinking, way too close. His brain offers a few suggestions(kiss Ray, kiss Ray, kiss him now) but he's so overwhelmed, head aching and lungs cramping, that all he can do is choke out "no", and, embarrassingly, pass out.
That's how Henry ends up hospitalized for the remainder of his sixteenth birthday party.
