"It's not your job to protect me!" I exasperate, trying to pull my arm away. Instead, he grabs both of my arms firmly, yet gently, pulling me towards him. "My brothers smother me enough as it is," I grumble under my breath, tugging away from him pointlessly as his grip on my arms never falters.
"I realize that it isn't my job to protect you, Katie, but I want it to be," he declared, meeting my gaze.
