"How exactly do expect that to happen?" Emir asked intrigued. "To challenge me, you will need to invoke the 9-vote system kid. You're just not old enough to do that," he added. Ezra held his stomach in pain, "Maybe not now, but I will be." --- There were 53 Territories in total in his realm. Each was governed by a Regent and each was independent of the other. Each territory divided its subdivisions differently. While some had 3 subdivisions, others had more, while others had less. Native tribes, however, were different. All territories had at least 9 because of the 9-vote system. To challenge a Regent, you needed to collect a vote from 9 Native packs. Challenges meant close or open quarter combat all of which always ended in death or defeat. His territory was Territory #2. Their capital was Saina and with it came their 3 subdivisions; High Hill, Rosewood, and Evergreen. Each provenance had 3 Native packs, all of which he needed to challenge and win. Maybe then it would prove that he was stronger than that day and strong enough to protect her.

COMPLETED ✔️✔️ "I don't want to argue with you, Z." Karim gritted out. "Stop calling me that, Karim." Zaira growled. "Do not refer to me by my name. You'll refer to me with my title. We aren't even friends to begin with." Zaira glared and Karim glared back with the same intensity. "Give him to me willingly and I won't send this any further, Z. I'll even give you the chance to see him. I'm being generous even for you. So just take my offer." Karim said calmly. "You've got to be crazy. Why on Earth would I give him to you? What do you even want him for?" Zaira said angrily. Karim exhaled. "I see. My lawyers will be in touch with you soon. They'll try to settle this privately with you. But if you still decide to be stubborn then we will meet in court in the coming weeks. I won't be so generous then." Karim turned away without waiting for her to speak and walked out of the house. He shuffled through the snow which got into his shoes. He hated snow. The car door to the back was already opened for him to enter. "Let's go. And get my chief attorney on the line." Karim told Ali. "Yes Sir." He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before exhaling. And with the escape of breath from his lungs came a lone tear from his eye. For the first time in a while, he allowed the tear to drop. ** They knew they were paired from the very beginning but destiny didn't side with them. Pain was etched into their daily lives.
