Ang malalaki at maiingay na makina ay handa na sa paglalayag. Ang naglalakihang lubid ay unti unting inaangat ang tarangkahan nito. Maraming tao ang may kanya kanyang ginawa, maliliksi at alam na alam kung anong kailangan nilang gawin. 

Hanggang sa umusad ito. Ang mga tao sa loob ay natigil. Nakatingin sa malawak na dagat habang ang mga mukha ay humahampas sa malamig na hangin. 

Mula sa malayo, ang isang malaking barko ay mistulang isang tuldok na paliit nang paliit, sumasabay sa sayaw ng mga alon, hanggang mawala na ito sa sakop ng aking mga mata. Para silang nilamon ng napakalaking dagat.  

Kung saan man ito tutungo ay tanging sila lamang ang nakakaalam. Kung kailan ang balik nito? Hindi ko rin alam. 

Ngunit kahit anong lawak ng dagat, kung anong para sa akin ay babalik rin. Iyon na tiyak ko.
