This is a cannon compliant piece about the motives of Daemon Targaryen with regard to his niece Rhaenyra Targaryen. It is written as an add on to the series and not a thesis. 

I find this character a complex, morally confusing, and conflicted character that pulled me in from the first scene.

When the two were ripped apart from each other after a mishap about a claiming of a dragon and the loss of an eye, the two of them thought the other would forget about them. They would not be there to keep each other safe, and the fire they had burning within them would slowly be snuffed out.
