November 8, 2013 when the most powerful typhoon ever recorded on earth wrought havoc in the Philippines. The super typhoon known internationally as Haiyan and locally as Yolanda, left thousands of people dead in the Visayas Region of the country --leaving the survivors in a state of shock. Homeless, grief-stricken, and hopeless.

This is my account of the disaster which left a huge scar in the hearts of the Filipino people and a huge lesson not just for the survivors to carry on for the rest of their lives but, also for us, volunteers of the calamity operations who have witnessed the aftermath of the terrible typhoon with our own eyes.

Join me in my recollection of my volunteers days --those memorable and lesson-filled days-- as I embarked on a journey back to my birthland in Panay Island, Philippines. A journey filled with laughter and tears. A journey to remember.

Tragedy ✔️ di stellarflowerwrite19
53 parti Completa Per adulti
𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯! Tragedy can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere, and the saddest part about that truth is that tragedy is unavoidable. No one can prevent a natural disaster from happening. No one can prevent death from knocking on their doorstep - if it's an accident, or a sickness - it cannot be prevented, and it cannot be avoided. You never know on which day tragedy will come knocking on your front door. You never know who it would strike next - if it would be you, or someone else, or someone who is very close to you. The thing is, with tragedy, it doesn't ask questions before it strikes. It just does. River and Sophia were two people who experienced the same tragedy: loss, but their stories were very different from each other, but they shared the same pain of losing someone they loved, someone who was close to them. And now, suffering the aftermath of their tragedies - living with the guilt, the regret, and the grief of losing someone that was close to them, they have to try to overcome everything, before their tragedy ruins their lives forever. But will it bring them together or would it just be another terrible tragedy? [ word count 130K - 145K ] [ comments does contain spoilers ]

Mythopocalypse

23 parti In corso Per adulti

This is now the year 2065 of the post-apocalyptic era of the Philippines. Monsters from myths and legends roam around the cities to bring fear and wreak havoc to civilization and forcing the human race close to its extinction. After the human race's downfall a place called Shelter was established in the island of Mindanao, which became the only hope and utopia for the rest of the surviving races. The organization behind Shelter built and divided the survivors into four factions that correspond to their strength and abilities. Keepers- they keep everyone in place, safe, and protected. Order- they were the ones who prioritize the order and peace inside the Shelter. Sage- they who are called the wise men; the ones that taught and kept all the excerpts and archives of the ancient history and knowledge of the human race. Lastly, the Farmers- they were gifted with an ability to cultivate land and produce food that sustains all the humans living in the Shelter. Among those who survived in the age of the Great Extinction there was a woman known for her fighting prowess and combat skills named Najia and this is her story.
