But little do the 16 students in this new chapter of the Danganronpa franchise they will be the stars of the 90th Danganronpa, a brand new killing game with 17 of Japan's top School Idols and a brand new mascot.
Stripped of their names, and therefore their connections to each other, they will be pushed to their limits and hopefully some of them snap under the pressure and succumb to the despair that awaits them.

Hope's Peak Academy, a school that scouts students from across the country in search of talent. The ones accepted into the school are known as Ultimates. The Ultimate Yakuza, the Ultimate Mechanic, the Ultimate Princess; anything goes. 17 High School students were picked in the next batch to attend the school. They all believed they'd graduate and leave with their futures set up for them. But things don't quite go as planned. All of them are now trapped on an island with no easy escape, forced into a killing game by a psychotic teddy bear. The only way to win is through betrayal. This weighs heavily on everyone.
