Ang kanilang lahi ay bihira lamang kaya naman itinatago nila ang kanilang mga sarili upang maging ligtas sa lahat ng maaaring gumambala sa kanila. Ayon sa kasaysayan ng kanilang lahi, ang mga water snake ay madalas na hinuhuli ng mga pirata upang gawing gamot o kaya ay ibenta ang kanilang magagandang kaliskis sa malaking halaga. Iyon ang dahilan kaya't sila ay nanirahan sa lugar hindi sila maabot ninuman.
