The reader joins the company on the quest to reclaim the dwarven homeland of Erebor. It becomes much more problematic than your usual adventure wherein the reader is a skin changer with alpha blood that allows her to shift into any creature; all she has to do is merely look at the animal she wants to turn into. Along with this comes soul bound mates-that are a natural thing for skin changers, likewise for the dwarves it is finding their one. How will Thorin behave when he discovers his one in the powerful skin changer? He says he'll wait till the quest is over but can he make it that long?
For the reader, it's a whole new journey in more ways than one. Neither parties want to give up their mate as they are only blessed with just one in a lifetime. The reader faces a multitude of questions one of them being what were to happen if she looked up the dragon, Smaug?

Her green eyes sparkled as she tossed a small pebble at the stranger's feet before giggling. The mischevious little one then toddled off a bit to chase a butterfly that had caught her attention. "She cannot stay here." Beorn said. "It is unsafe for a child. I do not want her to... be exposed. To my other form." "You seem to forget that she is your daughter." The wizard replied, shifting as a small breeze came through the forest. "And I am not trained in the art of raising children." The two men momentarily turned their gazes back to young Kyja, who was too occupied following the winged insect. Compassion soon struck the wizard's heart. "Yet... there is someone that could care for her. He is an odd fellow, relates more to animals than any other living creature- but he is genuinely kind, and will be able to assist Kyja in the following years. Radagast the Brown is his name." And so, the journey begins. Far into adulthood, Kyja is introduced to a completely new world when Gandalf proposes an offer- to join a band of dwarves to help them save their homeland. Haunted by past memories and scars, the skin-changer is forced to come to terms with her own history while accepting the new fate she has been given. Humility, love, and sacrifice are only some of the lessons learned in: Daughter of Beorn. ~ All ideas, concepts, and plot lines pertaining to The Hobbit all belong to J.R.R. Tolkien. Bilba and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Modern AU Crack/Humor/Fluff - Bilba and Thorin get into a fight and, as they are both prideful and stubborn, neither one can quite bring themselves to simply admit to their part and apologize. Bilba finally has enough of the stalemate and decides the most brilliant and epic solution ever would be to kidnap Thorin and lock him in the basement until he gives in, admits it was all his fault and begs for her forgiveness . It's possible she might have been a WEE bit drunk when she came up with, and executed, this plan. Of course now that she's done it she can't back down. That would be like admitting Thorin was right...somehow. She's not quite as firm on that point but what IS clear is Thorin looks far to smug for a kidnap victim which means she is certainly not admitting her plan was not the most epic and well thought out plan in the history of epic and well thought out plans. Even when she realizes Frerin might have been a witness meaning she has to kidnap him too...and Dwalin shows up acting all suspicious so of COURSE she has to kidnap him........ There just MAY have been one...or two TINY flaws in her plan after all but that doesn't mean it wasn't still epic! Thorin will rue the day he crossed her!Complete

But when Gandalf the Grey sends for him Nataen will be dragged into an unexpected adventure. The story of their journey will spread across Middle Earth and lift the shadows that surround him a little bit. Disclaimer: This story was inspired by the "Blue Swords" trilogy, written by Frayedapart. If you are a fan of the Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings you should pay the profile of Frayedapart a visit.
