[Excerpt]: A familiar cauldron of butterflies presented at the pit of my stomach. The gravitational pull I'd so helplessly fell victim to a countless number of times now felt as inescapable as a rising ocean tide amidst a tsunami. Don't look...don't look...don't loo- Too late, I was already completely entrapped by his unwavering force of attraction. My vision skimmed across the dance floor, slowing every few seconds to recommit to pinning down those dangerous melancholy orbs. I was certain my heart was now racing with palpitations strong enough to send me into cardiogenic shock. Still, I remained determined in my efforts to meticulously trail over the staffed tables until my gaze finally landed on him. An involuntary breath escaped my lips as he and I interlocked eyes. Despite being meters apart, the tension between us felt unbearably thick and unnerving. So much so that I could almost sense the very essence of him breathing down my neck. Taste the familiarity of his cherry pine scent. He was seated at a stationed table with his long legs manspread and body fully relaxed. It was then that I realized that this was the epitome of who he was to his core. He was an emotionless corpse gifted with a Greek-like exterior who could never fathom the thought of bearing his emotions raw to anyone. Worst of all, he was a liar. Fuck him. **Contains mature/adult content

I lied," I say still looking at his lips, he opens his eyes and gazes over at me. "Uh oh," he whispers, not breaking eye contact. I am suddenly aware of his lingering stare. He looks at me everywhere, every inch, there was no hiding from it. His gaze lingers on my lips. "Why do you think it's okay to lie to me?" He teases, staring into my eyes. He takes my hand and kisses it. I stare dumbfounded and lose my train of thought for a moment. "I'm good at lying," I say with a shrug. He only smirks and kisses my hand again. He then pulls me towards him, so that I am on top of him. ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ─── Nora Farris is grief stricken by the death of her father eight months ago.
