GUARDING HER HEART

The impact was painful and loud but not sever. There were no broken bones or a cracked skull, only one or two purple bruises that would act as a souvenir.

"What the heck is wrong with you?! Is your wit as sharp as a butterknife?!" Adria exclaimed, "I could have broken a bone or been hospitalized! Gone into coma even! Do you understand how dangerous what you were doing is?"

Colton paid no attention to her insults. "Get back in the house." He commanded and the young girl blinked at him a few times.

Who did he think he was telling her what to do after the stunt he just pulled?

"No." She answered with stubborness, rooted in her position. "You will not force me."

"Listen here," His dark orbs drilled into hers but his face remained empty. "If you want to play games go find friends. I am here to do my job which is to protect and ensure your safety. Now I will not repeat myself again, go back to the house."

Adria didn't like his tone at all. A spark of irritation seized her body as she crossed her arms against her chest.

"No." She answered with cold civility. "And I don't like your tone. Fix it."
