When mutants became normalized and started roaming in other places than the Hidden City, a lot of people were skeptical with the change. Especially your older brother, Billy, who was involved with a lot of gang events. Some of your friends were skeptical, but ok like Lucas, Dustin, Max, and Nancy. Some didn't care like Eleven, Mike, and Eddie.
But everything changed when you went to a dance, and saw a particular turtle that caught your eye.
Donatello was a man of his word.. Most of the time. He always told himself that he would never date until he was an adult because it would get in the way of his life. His brothers love the surface, but humans treat them differently at times. He and his brothers, along with other fighting mutants would defend themselves when the humans would vandalize the mutants, or vice versa. However, an event happened, causing Donnie to never participate in those events again. But when Leo somehow convinced everyone to go this dance, Donnie sees a young human girl and something sparked in him.

This is based on the 2021 version of West Side Story, but the gangs roles be swapped a bit. Even if you haven't seen the new or old WSS, you don't need to because this story will be altered around a bit to match up. In this AU, Mikey is 15, Leo+Donnie are 16, and Raph is 17. You are 16, and the original ST characters are the same age and this takes place in "New Indiana" (New York and Indiana mixed together) during modern times.

I thought of this idea and it kind of reminds me of some a Undertale AUs.

Donnie's Ranting Mind: Stolen Love (1)
Donnie is Non-Binary. That would normally be fine, but a new side of their life is starting to get in the way of coming out. This "new side" is named Brandon Carter, a human boy. Donnie met Brandon when he was 15 & they were 14, a year before the Shredder incident. Brandon is the one that helped Donatello realize they were Non-Binary when they were 16 & he was 17, just after the Kraang incident. Brandon had opened a whole new world to them. Now, Brandon is 22 years old & Donatello is 21 years old. Donatello is out to April, Leo, & Splinter. And that's it. Donatello is petrified to come out to Raphael, Michelangelo, Casey & Vern. They shouldn't be so anxious since they've known their brothers since they were literal infants & they've known Casey & Vern for as long as they've known April. Brandon isn't making the situation any better, either. Donatello finds it awfully hard to focus on themself when they keep thinking of Brandon. Until Brandon & other Civilians get captured by the Foot Clan, led by Master Karai & Doctor Stockman. Karai & Stockman reveal that the civilians are to be test subjects for a new virus-like recreation of the mutagen. Vincent gives Donnie a lead (but they already knew). When the turtles find the place, they are able to save the civilians with help from April, Casey, & Vern. The Foot Clan then bomb the building. But Brandon is still trapped in his containment unit. Leo tries to get Donnie to leave, but they can't leave Brandon. They find a way to hack into the system & disconnect a weakening Brandon from the tubing, but he is still in the cage. Donnie is able to break it & holds Brandon close as the building collapses around them. They both make it out alive, & they are scared to lose Brandon again. Which leads them to reveal their newest project: an engagement ring. Then, Leo asks why Donnie risked their life for Brandon. That's when Donnie reveals that they are non-binary & that they've been dating Brandon in the first place.Complete

It wouldn't be surprising if Leo got some unneeded criticism from his older brother, Raph, after Leo suddenly became the leader of him and his brothers. Mikey was always the one who tried to make things better, but he noticed things between them all have changed. Donnie is more obsessed with his lair and invention. Raph likes to cause fights with Leo at times and everything is just chaos. Mikey decides that after he's done with a single fight, he goes off to try and gain some peace, but he runs into someone. Big Mama's so-called assistant was discarded after Big Mama gained "Shadow Fiend", so the assistant ran off in fear of being killed. But the odd thing is that there is more to the mutant than meets the eye. For one, she's a mutant turtle hybrid and is living on the streets of the surface. So what happens when her usual stealing is stopped by Mikey? A friend of mine made the silhouettes of the turtles but I made the cover with Canva. There uncles left them at the age of twelve when they left on a trip. Now there 17 and still living because of Dipper became a shop keeper and a thief. Mable never knew that Dipper started to steal stuff to survive in this world. Everyone Loved Dipper because he was so helpful to them. What they didn't realized is that Dipper had been stealing there money and jewels this whole time. Dipper uses his shop keeper job as a cover up this whole time. There the second highest gang in Gravity Falls called "Demons.". The leader of the group is Bill cipher. His gang members are William(Will) cipher, Star, Andrew and Lady widow. The Demons were like family. Bill and Will helped them when they needed it the most and now they were family. They all have The Gift that everyone wanted. The highest Gang of them all is a young man that doesn't have a team. He's a solo man. No one's ever meant him in person before, but one little lady. When Dipper meets Bill something changes in the leader. Something that can effect his team that he calls family. Or Something that can effect his life forever.Complete

I exited through the side entrance of the building and stood by the manhole cover, pulling it up and out of the way. I climbed down the ladder and slid the cover back over me, shrouding myself in pitch darkness. When I got to the ground, water splashed by my feet and I turned my phone flashlight on. Ice covered most of the walls and floor, except for the small puddle I stepped in. I looked around and started walking in the right direction. It was colder in the sewers this time of year and I almost slipped on ice a few times. When I saw familiar pipes and came to what looked like a concrete wall, a small smile formed on my lips. I stood in front of it for a moment, staring at it. "Come on, Angel." I muttered to myself. It's only been two years. I doubt much has changed. I took a deep breath in and reached up to pull the pipe above the closed door. I'm a lot taller now, so I didn't have to get on my tip toes like back then. The door parted open and I walked in slowly, hearing a thud behind me when it shut closed. It was quiet in the lair as I walked around, taking it all in. Most of it looked the same, while some parts looked new. I took my beanie, scarf, and jacket off, setting them on the couch nearby. "Hello?" - **** quick content and trigger warning possibility. Regarding the fanfics that revolve around the tmnt fandom and series versions, I personally have read many that involve hard language (cursing) and depictions of violent scenes bc it's whats in the storylines of all versions of tmnt across the board and through the decades.
