He does not like the way the kingdom lives, having many rules and is strict to not break them. He always been rebellious against these rules, hoping his father will see he is not meant to be king. He feels that he is not good enough from the way the way the Northerners do not see him as king and all the way to his sexuality. He has never been attracted to women and fears having to marry one day to someone he knows he can never love. A situation occurs that makes him run away, meeting a strange man named Lennox who leads who to a different kingdom. This kingdom leaves him with many culture shocks in comparison to his own.
