There was a major war that happened and now the government is trying a new experiment on the city. The main character, Alex, and her best friends who are twins are seeing that something isn't right. They're seniors in high school but because of the war, they've been separated on government orders. No one is allowed outside because the government is making people to believe its toxic. They believe that if the parents believe it, the kids will too. But it doesn't stop Alex. She and her best friends decide that they are going to try and stop this. But how? They have no clue. Sky grew up in an underground city. The whole city was in fear of a war happening, which is the reason for the life the people lived underground. The only way the people can breathe fresh oxygen is by a hole in a hidden room that leads up to the surface. The hole and the room are guarded by burly guards, and only people over the age of eighteen are allowed to leave the underground city to collect resources. Sky dislikes these arrangements, however. She wants to see the world with her own eyes before she reaches the age of eighteen. Her plan works, but a few minutes after she goes outside, she gets kidnapped. Is it safe for Sky to escape and return home? Or does she have to stay trapped forever?

Alexis and her brothers find themselves stuck in an infinite loop of pressure and deaths. They all share their views and troubles struggling with teenage life like all do. Arguments. Regrets. Pain. Will they survive? Will they kill or cry or jump? The pain is slowly eating them but they don't notice until it is nearly too late.

She finds a 18 year old guy named Jake, and his 13 year old sister Sydnie. She meets them in the mental hospital. Jake was told the same codes Lilly was, and together, all 3 of them plan to escape. But there's a lot of security. Will they make it out?

A story of friendship, trust, heart break and high school life. A group of friends survive their last year in high school and each go through a stage of challenges testing their friendship and trust. Will they all find their happily ever after?
