"The once snarling beast let out a whimper as the metal hit its neck. It must've been a good shot, because the animal ran off with no sign of returning.
Nancy dropped the gun and knelt by her brother's side.
As the siblings hugged, Steve brought himself to his back, his gaze fixated on the moon above.
What had just happened was either a wild coincidence, or fate predicted by a 40-year-old fortune teller."

STEVE HARRINGTON used to live life to the fullest as the most popular guy in school. Now that he's graduated, he's stuck working at Family Video.

NANCY WHEELER plays it safe. She prefers life spending countless hours with her pretentious boyfriend and writing for the school's newspaper.

MIKE WHEELER wants nothing more than to leave Hawkins in search for adventure. Without Hawkins, life wouldn't be full of boredom and bullies.

After a night involving a car crash and an animal attack, the three will find themselves bonded by shared scars and a curse they must work together to break.

It was the start of the early 90's, when everything was over, when death and destruction took its toll, leaving scars and deep fissures in its wake. But, at least, it brought a sense of renewal, of an escape from all the horrors they went through and, for the first time in so long, they could finally start to move on. That was, if they ever could. El was gone, both Mike and Will spent years apart healing, lives separate and away from Hawkins and each other without any plans for reconnection. Until, they met again in college. By chance, a mere coincidence. And maybe there they could have another chance, too.
