The Dark City Chronicles ⁓ Book Three The apocalypse looms ever closer! Steamy romance, heart-stopping action, seductive vampires, magic that defies nature, sprinkles of dark-humor, and, as always, the everlasting bonds of friendship. Hannah's struggling to survive in a vicious world of monsters. The cost of dark magic is steep, and she nearly lost everything, but she can't dwell on her misery because there's a baby that needs her to fight. And she will. She'll fight until her last breath for that child's future. The demon she's been carrying might just hold the answers they need to tip the tide of coming darkness in their favour, but that's only if she's willing to pay his price. There's a prophesied beast he has to vanquish. A vampire gone mad that's killing indiscriminately. And countless enemies are vying for his head and the lives of everyone he loves. Kane will have to salvage his broken family, train harder than he's ever dared, and then kill all the foolish bastards who thought they could put him on their deranged chessboards and not suffer his wrath. Reid hears voices, not the rational kind. These are whispers that speak to his darkest desires. He'll have to delve deep into his family history and break a curse that his lineage has suffered for centuries before he can no longer defy their musings. The bells are tolling, and if he wants to thwart their augury and resist the allure of darkness, he'll need to choose love and hope it's enough. [COMPLETED]

She had pushed herself past her breaking point, and still continued on as if nothing was wrong. The demigod knew if she allowed herself time to take even a moment, her soul would physically crack in two. Now was not the time for weakness, if anything, she had to be stronger. She knew the other girls would mumble about her, but Icaria wouldn't listen to them. She refused to watch someone she loved fall at the hands of Thanatos again. If need be, she would offer herself to him in place. Yet, there was someone who noticed the young girl breaking apart. She could see the bags grow darker, and watched as Icaria began to eat less and less. It was the same someone who had saved Icaria all those years ago. And the goddess refused to watch that someone suffer any longer. The goddess, Artemis, stepped out of her tent in the early morning light. All of her girls were getting rest, taking the opportunity to relax with the very few days of peace they had left. All except one. In the distance, the goddess could hear the distinct sound of metal striking against wood. She took quiet steps, and watched Icaria Kane from a distance. The girl breathed heavily, her body slumped from exhaustion. "Icaria?" Artemis asked, stepping through the early morning fog. "Why do you cry?" The demigods body tightened, urging the tears to stop falling. She turned her body away from her goddess, clutching Hearth in her hands.

Lilith Thomas is about to come to a startling realization. First, she finds out her English teacher that hates her for no reason (okay, she said one snarky comment in class. One!) is actually a pale donkey lady with fire for hair. Then her best friend, Chrys, pulls out a literal sword that makes the teacher explode into yellow glitter. Then Chrys takes her to a weird camp on Long Island and tells her that she's half-god. Yeah, you read that right. Half-GOD. So now Lilith is in this weird camp with a bunch of weird people (though she's pretty weird herself, to be honest). And if that wasn't enough? An accident on the borders of camp sends Lilith and her friends halfway across the country to a murderous empousa that isn't exactly happy she summoned three useless demigods. So now Lilith has all that going on. Fun, right?
