Three teenagers were running through the snowy forest, away from whatever was behind them, and whatever it was, it was not good. Eventually they ended up in a small clearing, and had seemed to have lost it.
"What was that thing!"
Ace was breathing heavily as he looked up at Conner, who was the one who spoke.
"Whatever it was, it sure as hell wanted us dead," replied Akira. Right as she said that, a snap of a twig was heard from their left. Ace was the first to look over, and was chilled to the bone as he stared at this creature. It was about 8 feet tall, with a grey fur covering its whole body, canine-like legs and snout, yet human-like hands, where each finger ended with a sharp black claw. It started sniffing the air before staring down the 3 teenagers, getting ready to pounce, but right before it could, the 3 of them jolted back towards the forest, running as fast as they possibly could.
"We need to get out of here now," Ace yelled as he started running in the direction of the border to the forest. They could hear the creature behind them, destroying anything in its path to reach them.
"It's right there, just run!"
Ace didn't have the time to look at who talked, he just kept running, and eventually burst out into the street, but he didn't stop until the sidewalk, only then did he turn around. Conner and Akira were still on the road, just staring into the forest. When he looked he saw it too. The creature was standing behind a girl dressed in a blood stained dress, holding a knife and smiling.
"Darkness awaits," said the girl standing there, before the streetlamps went out, and they were engulfed in darkness.
This story started as a school project called Darkness Awaits, which is what is written above. I fell in love with this story and decided to make it my own. Thank you to anyone who reads this and I hope you enjoy.
She....I.......
I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'.
Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. I jumped.
