She always did her best to keep to herself and go unnoticed by her classmates. But now she's been dragged into being one of the very few people who know about Hawkins, Indiana's biggest secret- Underneath the town lies an detention called the Upside Down.

She can't tell anyone, not even her brother Eddie or her best friend Robin. Because of this, however, she forms an unintentional friendship with Steve Harrington, the local King of Hawkins High, who she has always had a crush on.

I know that Stranger things takes place during the 80s and that it wasn't very LGBTQ+ friendly during that time and that being trans wasn't as easy as it is today (as a trans man myself I am well aware that it still isn't easy at all but compared to the 80s it is easier) so I am sorry if it isn't super realistic, but the story is stranger things based either way so it cant really be realistic anyway.
