Diagnosed with an incurable disease, Charlotte Hallaway's life is in the hospital. With multiple surgeries and check-ups inside isolated rooms for long periods of time, Charlotte has, surprisingly, never seen sunlight. Every time a surgery or check-up is finished, it's raining. Her parents had given up on her staying alive, even if they are still paying for her medical bills. But, what if they stop paying her bills? They do, and instead, they buy her a laptop as a present for her last birthday.
