After leaving Mexico for a better life in America, Hera Garcia found herself working in the home of Amelia Johansson; the cruel, black-hearted, snobby daughter of the owner of a successful Steel company.

Hera had to put up with everything Amelia put against her. Beatings, maltreatment, and she even accepted to be paid below the minimum wage as she thought all that was better than living on the street.

Hera had had hopes that all that would change as time went on but she was wrong. The bullying only got worse even after four years of working as her maid and as a nanny for her daughter.

Often times Amelia would threaten to call the immigration authorities on Hera if she didn't comply with her inappropriate demands (like the one time she ordered Hera to seduce her husband while she watched them via the hidden cameras because she suspected him of infidelity)

Amelia's husband, Dylan was the complete opposite of her. He was nice, good-looking, and humble. He treated Hera and every other employee with respect (Amelia hated that he was nice to their employees) and that immediately made Hera drawn to him.

Hera's life began to turn upside down when she realized that she was in love with her ruthless boss' husband.
