Rags is horribly scarred from an accident that should've been fatal, and spent his life hiding in the darkness of a mountain city, ashamed of his scars. When he meets an artist who promises to turn that which he hates into his most beautiful creation, with showing his physical scars, he slowly starts to show his emotional ones too. Slowly, as the art progresses, he shows more and more of himself, and finds that all that's been regarded suddenly dreams of being more than a canvas. Meanwhile, the artist doesn't only fall in love with his work, but finds that those feelings also start to act up when looking at the muse and canvas without his mark upon him.

❝I know you love God or whatever, but I want to do the most unholy things to you.❞ Small towns harbor two types of people: those that live and die within the confines of it, and those that get the hell out while they can. Hudson is one of the lucky few with the means to pack his bags and run as fast as he can once he graduates high school. Although he can't quite cut ties with his family and leave his past in the past, he can take advantage of a fresh start in the city that never sleeps: New York City. College is a chance for Hudson to find out who he really is--and who he wants to be. He's a good boy with a religious knack and a girlfriend back home who doesn't mind that he's saving himself for marriage. His deepest secret that he likes men is neither new nor surprising, more so downright despicable. Damnable, even. When he meets Zane, an eccentric friend of his roommate, his entire earth is turned on its axis and the life he thought he wanted vanishes. Zane opens his eyes to a world of freedom full of lust and sin. And for the love of all things holy, he likes it.
