The only stability in his life is his friend Isaiah.
When Isaiah's mom helps Cade catch his first big break as an artist, he's swept away by success and can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As Cade's friendship with Isaiah starts to evolve, Isaiah complicates things by kissing him and rewriting the rules of their friendship. Before Cade even has a chance to consider his feelings, Isaiah's mother dismisses him as too low class to be part of Isaiah's life.
