One day, Lloyd Garmadon seemingly vanished, leaving behind his green gi and communicator. Several weeks later, Borg Industries Tower was infiltrated and the Oni Mask of Vengeance was stolen.
The crime syndicate known as the Sons of Garmadon has come out of the shadows to enact their outrageous plan and the Ninja must protect the royal family as well as the Oni Mask they posess for if all three Masks were united, it would spell disaster.
And Lloyd? He was working with the enemy.

A/N
Crystallized just ended so I believe now is the perfect time to start making Ninjago fanfics and this features a theory about Ninjago that I had for a long time.
Despite this being an AU, I would have to warn that there are spoilers for practically every season of Ninjago since Crystallized gave us a complete story on how everything was interlinked. I apologise for spoiling any major plot elements that's similar between the show and this fic though you should at least have finished everything before the Oni Trilogy.

"Now I have all three Oni masks." "I thought the others were with the Sons of Garmadon," Harumi's suspicions are starting to become reality. All of his weird behaviors were starting to make sense. Lloyd being overly giddy, when he truly is the team's Debbie Downer when it comes to his father. His weird rambles to himself when they were walking up the mountain. It all started to click in her brain. If Lloyd was going to be stupid and partly blow his cover, why not make sure he commits to it? Lloyd continues,"They do, and I do too. I'll be taking this if you don't mind." He starts to slowly back away, eyeing Harumi, towards the opening of the cave when Harumi had pounced on him, making them both tumble down to the floor. They discover they possess elemental powers, and master the art of Spinjitzu to combat the Serpentine threat, although Y/n has not unlocked said elemental powers, yet. * * * All your life you knew the Brookstones.(IK that's not their real last name, but it sounds better then 'Bucket', soooo) and for the longest time, the Brookstones son, Cole was your best friend. And what felt like forever, you had a crush on him, but you didn't want to tell him, out of fear he didn't feel the same way. (In this story, when Cole goes away he isn't found by Sensei Wu till after you.) When one day, you went over to his house, and his Dad said that he had gone away to the Marty Oppenheimer School of the Art's, which didn't sound right. After a few months, weird stuff started happening to you. One day, you were approached by an old man, claiming that you were an Elemental master, and that you needed to train to be a ninja. At first you were sceptical, but after some thought, you went with him. After about a month, the man said he wanted you to meet some other people like you. You didn't know what you expected, but you didn't expect Cole to be one of the people you were to meet.
