~BOOK 1~ April O'Neil, a fearless reporter, and her younger sister Skylar, a free-spirited artist, find themselves on the run after witnessing the subway incident that revealed the existence of the Turtles. New challenges await the turtles. The turtles meet another teenager named Casey Jones a friend of April who develops a crush on her. In spite of their own demons, the sisters are not alone as they battle their own demons. From Japan, Shredder brings Tiger Claw with him, an assassin that becomes Shredder's second in command and it is no secret that the sisters are familiar with Tiger Claw. In an effort to bait the turtles and Splinter, Shredder takes Karai hostage and threats to mutate her, while he wishes to mutate the turtles into snakes but something else takes place instead. These challenges are only the beginning for turtles.

(Thought I'd try a description) Raphael accidentally hurts his baby brother, causing Mikey to leave the lair in a fit of anger only to be captured by Shredders assistants. The remaining turtles have to get him back but the only way is to get caught themselves.
