Gina and EJ got together shortly after their performance of High School Musical, when EJ bought her the plane ticket, which was the fall musical during EJ's junior year and Gina's sophomore year. And after being together for almost one and a half year something happens that will change their lives forever.

When EJ gets a voicemail from his father days after the show, asking him to visit the Caswell Success School, he has mixed feelings. On the one hand, he wants nothing to do with that place, or his neglectful father. On the other, he feels there's some unfinished business there--and he's always been one to do what his father asks of him. This is Gina's first ever romantic road trip. To be honest, her entire life has been a road trip, so she's not that excited to be getting back in the car again. But when it comes to her boyfriend, EJ, she knows he's made something fun out of a potentially messy situation. Aurora Garcia and EJ Caswell grew up practically inseparable; they were each other's person and best friend for as long as they could remember, and to them, nothing could break them apart. Well, that's what they always thought, at least; being a year older, EJ starts high school before his best friend, ready for a fresh start and to make his mark on East High. Aurora had always heard that High School changes people and that even the strongest friendships might drift apart during it, but not in a million years did she think that would happen to her and EJ.
