When photophobic high school sophomore, Bridget Jackson, moves from rainy Seatle to a beach town in bright and sunny California, she doesn't expect much. Maybe a friend or two, but no one like her best friend Chloe could exist in a town this awful. But when shy girl Amanda Perez takes an interest in her, Bridge finds herself with greater powers than she ever thought.

After a careless scientific accident with new elements, people with supernatural abilities began to surface. Society adjusted, and social norms changed. Heroes and villians surfaced, making the world more complicated. Fast-forward one hundred years. Neera Sanchez fights for her survival as a supervillain. She does what she can to survive, inadvertently making her a target for the heroes. Behind her mask, she struggles in personal battles, alone. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive?
