During the time of castles and knights, gender didn't matter.  Subgender did.

The only heir to the Bangtan Kingdom, Prince Yoongi, was an omega.  The sole heir apparent to ever present as an omega in their kingdom's history.  From the moment he presents he is in a constant fight against the stereotypes of his sub-gender.  To make matters worse, an alpha-biased royal council refuses to allow him to ascend the throne on his 25th birthday unless he is mated.  Reluctantly, he agrees to a tournament in which suitors are able to showcase their talent and prove their worth as potential mate to the prince.

What the prince didn't plan for was one of the suitors to be from his past. Someone who had broken him completely and whom he never wanted to see again.
