Karissa lived a calm life in South Town with her father, Peter. Upon her mother's death in her teens, she rebuilt herself, and lets her mother live on in her memories. As her 18th birthday approaches, she begins to have strange dreams. 
Her childhood best friend, Amanda, and their new friend Lorelei from the northern city of Irkah, one day overheard a conversation that will soon change their life forever. Just two days before her birthday, grief sets in when her friends go missing, and she's left without them, not knowing where they could be. On the day of her 18th, she discovers that her eye has changed color. Scared and confused, she confided in her father and Amanda's grandmother, Rhian. 
They tell her the stories of what is truly happening, what she is. Introduced to the Magic Folk's world and its people, she must follow those who once guided her mother. When she was seven, a faithful night, she slept off being able to see the would through bright eyes and the next morning everything was as dark as coal. 11years later you'd think she would be used to the idea of being blind but she isn't. One night would change her life. After going to university, a week -2 weeks into the tern her vision started to clear up and to celebrate, her roommate decided to take her out for a drink. Somewhere along the line she looses her roommate and is saved by Vina or so she thinks. Vina tells the young girl she knows her and that she helped her which leaves the girl in a state of confusion. Vina snaps her finger and everything went dark again only then dose Innana realize her ability to see again is not by her power. Vina introduces her self as Savvina Vukasin, a demon but Innana refuses to believe until vina bears her claws and fangs out for Innana. The young girl asked the demon what she wants and the demon tells her in exchange for her ability to see she needs one thing but that's the one thing Innana can't give her.
