Thoma and Ayato grew up together, having a strong bond. Thoma loved working for Ayato and would do anything for him. He meant that as well with all his heart. Ayato was almost like Thoma's gay awakening. Thoma would have never guessed that Ayato was his exact type, but Ayaka could see right through him.

Thoma would talk about how he felt about Ayaka's brother. She could tell that Thoma loved him, thinking about ideas for Thoma to confess to him. It was maybe around once they hit their late teenage years they got together. Ayaka's idea worked wonders, glad to see her best friend and brother happy together. They kept it a secret, knowing that not everyone was going to approve of their relationship. Thoma and Ayato would only kiss, hold hands, cuddle, you know... the couple-like stuff at home. Ayato wanted to show that Thoma was his and only his whenever he saw Thoma being hit on by other men.

It wasn't till years later they were figured out. Thoma and Ayato were... scared, but they were there for each other. Most people found them cute together and supportive. Some hated that two men were dating. Some found it strange and sudden and had nothing to say about their relationship. Itto was the most supportive, coming out of the closet months after Ayato and Thoma did. Thoma was the most shocked, while Ayato just knew Itto and Gorou one day would get together. He just knew it.
