Alaina, 15, is a runaway from Florida. She wanted to start her life over even though she knew that she wouldn't be able to escape her past so easily. Before she left, she made sure she got enough money to last her a while from her friends, her job, and encouraging family members.
As she arrives to her destination in North Carolina, Jonathan, the person who was supposed to help and support her when she got there, had gone missing and she now has no place to go.
Alaina spends most of her time staying in cheap motels but her money is draining fast.
One night, as she leaves a nearby gas station close to her motel, she passes a guy that looks only a few years older than her but the odd thing is that when she starts walking back to the motel, she realizes that the same guy is right behind her. She assumes maybe he's staying at the motel also but by the way she can feel him breathing on her neck that he probably had different intentions. Little did she know that her stalker would soon become someone she didn't know she was capable of having.
