# Summary + Prologue

There's a certain form of hatred in my heart that can only ever be true for Marian Castillo.

It was the type of hatred that reared it's head every time she was in the same place as me, that blurred into uncaring but lingering afterthoughts when she was not. It was always a persisting fire that I have fed for five years since I have met her, and a fire I have been trying to douse since for two after that. But that ever present fire has never been as fierce as it was when I first saw our names in the same table, same chart, same paper.

I did not like what it meant.
