The place was completely barren, absence that stretched farther than Night could ever imagine. He felt the presence, each step he took closer, his body sunk more, bones heavy as they rattled almost eerily. This, this variant right here, Night knew he'd never be able to understand his pains, his sufferings. His negative emotions cast out in a hurricane , calming to an ocean that Night felt himself fall deeper into with each gentle step. This other Cross, Night worried, may be his most difficult job yet. And despite it, he persisted.
"Have you come to offer me a deal like the others?"
Night stood in silence, giving the other a second to think, knowing just by his presence alone Cross' emotions ran wild.
