Mawi and the Gods

In a village where traditions and talents define worth, Mawi struggles to find her place. Unable to master the womanly duties expected of her, she's overshadowed by her younger brother, Cawcaw, a prodigy adored by all. Cawcaw's unparalleled skills in hunting, carving, sewing, and crafting earn him the admiration of the village, while Mawi is dismissed as a failure. Her envy toward him grows, turning into resentment as she watches him excel in every way she falls short.

But when Cawcaw mysteriously disappears, the village elders proclaim he has been taken by a god to serve as a slave. While others resign themselves to the loss, Mawi is determined to save him. Armed only with a bow Cawcaw once crafted for her and her newfound resolve, Mawi embarks on a dangerous journey into the unknown.

Along the way, she encounters Pui, the enigmatic Jealous God. Known for his love of music, mischievous nature, and poor sense of direction, Pui becomes both a guide and a source of frustration for Mawi. Though he claims indifference, his actions suggest he cares more deeply than he lets on. He challenges Mawi to confront her jealousy and teaches her the power of music, revealing that strength isn't limited to physical or traditional skills.

As Mawi braves treacherous landscapes and confronts minor gods, she uncovers the truth about her brother's disappearance and her own insecurities. What begins as a mission to rescue Cawcaw becomes a journey of self-discovery, where Mawi learns the value of her own abilities and the depth of her love for her brother.
