He looked at me then, his gaze soft but determined. "Then we make right now count," He said quietly, his voice low and steady. The words hit me like a shock, grounding me for a moment. He reached over, his fingers brushing against mine, warm and sure. His thumb stroked the back of my hand, and for a split second, the terror faded just a little.
