My name is ironic. Inspired by the boy who flew too close to the sun, a name attached to ambition and passion. My parents were hoping I would do something great, not knowing they were creating the ultimate irony, birthing a boy who was uninspired and believed in taking life as it came. But this isn't my story. No. This is about my sister, the main character of my life, the golden girl who burned so bright, blackout sunglasses weren't enough to look at her. This is her life, her memoirs, through my eyes. Because if you're related to Bea Rhodes, you're bound to be a side character forever.

I was 5 years old when I met Mia. I knew I loved her from the day I met her. We did everything together, and we were inseparable. People judged us. All eyes were on us because she is black and I am white. We didn't mind because we were each other's light during the darkness of their stares. I never understood why it is so easy for people to hate, as opposed to love. Kindness is contagious, and we all should pass it along. I fell in love with Mia. Her flaws were perfect in my eyes, and I knew she would always be my Mia. I love her just as much as the bees love honey. I get carried away sometimes, its’ like I get caught up in the moment. Like I forget that I am sitting staring at the sky and stay out late just admiring the moon from the roof. Next thing I know, I’ve got a cold. Another example, how many people can honestly say they spent the whole day hallucinating about Television dramas? I sometimes think that I am a character from a make believe world where cute guys fall for the ugliest girls. And then the real world comes around. Ugh, why’s my life so boring! Every time I get stuck in the hard times, I run away to my room and escape into the lives of other characters, pretending that I live in a world that is just incredible.
