"Rollins," I greet as I open the door. I am surprised by her unexpected visit. Clara and I returned from Montauk last week. SVU still does not have a suspect in the Meat Packing District assaults, although Kat, who has now taken the lead on the case after Benson disciplined Rollins for victim-blaming Clara, keeps me in the loop. I've been by the station several times on other matters and have steered clear of my former partner.
Clara stands up from the sofa, where she sits, as the door swings wider to allow Rollins entry. I can see the angry look in Rollins' eyes. I've seen the look before. The Georgia peach looks ready for a brawl, and alcohol seems to be firing her emotions.
"Sonny," she drawls.
I note Rollins' failure to acknowledge Clara's existence as she steps inside.
I look at Clara and try to assess her reaction. She doesn't show any of her emotional cards.
"Rollins, what is this about?"
"I think it's high time Miss Maple Syrup and I get some things straight," Rollins says.

Amanda Rollins, Dominick's ex-partner, is jealous when she learns Dominick is dating someone else. Clara knows Dominick loves Rollins' children, Jesse and Billie, like his own. Will Clara step aside for Amanda? Clara also fears her dark secret could lead Dominick into Amanda's arms. The story begins in the summer of 2021, following the season 22 finale.
