The Sump Rat's Gambit

Mae'rym Talaris was the ghost of the Sump, a scavenger who lived in the lightless runoff of Coruscant, surviving on sharp wits and a strange feeling that warned her of danger before it arrived. When she is pulled into the sunlight of the Jedi Temple, she is a rough stone in a room full of silk. While the Council debates the ethics of a brewing civil war, Mae'rym is learning that the Force isn't a philosophy, it's the only thing keeping her from falling back into the dark.
