Xie Lian has moved all over China in the last 1000 years, but after realising he just can't get into the modern zeitgeist, he moves to the little town of Puqi, where he can pretend the world around him hasn't changed as much as it did. He falls into a peaceful routine taking care of his little vegetable farm and the nostalgic shrine of himself that lies hidden in the forest a day worth of travel away, until one day one of the kids in town catches his attention by being just a little too sharp to be normal...
