Chess is a strategy game made by men, for men, about men, and a woman that does what she wants because no strategy gives a man the right to tell a woman what to do.

Ayanokoji is more than capable by himself, but Tsujihara took a few things off his plate, and he never asked for them back. He appreciates the help -- among other things.

The girl he once knew is different now-stronger, more confident, yet still guarded in a way he can't quite understand. He assumed she had moved on, that their past was nothing more than a distant memory to her. After all, why would she care about someone who had never really seen her? The more time he spends with Yuki, the more he realizes how much he's misunderstood her-and himself. The girl who was once in the background of his life now occupies the center of his thoughts. As old memories resurface and new emotions emerge, Ayanokoji finds himself drawn to Yuki in ways he never expected. In a story where the past refuses to stay buried, Ayanokoji must face the truth. And that truth was... Credits for the Image: @shuki_mubi on X. A very talented artist. Check them out :)
