The story starts out four years earlier and shows the developing love between college seniors Haydn Ross and Camila De Luca. Their love is infectious and instantaneous. He's slow to open up due to his past but the love they have for each other is unwavering. They both are passionate and want different things than what their families had envisioned for them. Haydn just had no idea what that vision truly had entailed until he was forced to give everything he ever wanted up including Camila. The story shifts to four years later when...Camila returns to a neighboring town with her boyfriend Josh...who she falls in love with over a summer at their lake house, and who she finds out is good friends with Haydn. Camila has no idea who Haydn really is now and what Josh does to protect him. Secrets, lies and pain surround them...will love be what gives the happy ending or will pain always be the inevitable.
