A girl is always looked upon as a liability, in many of the houses. And when she tries to make a life for herself on her own, they stand in her way to success. But still if she succeeds, they would call her a magpie!
(A magpie is a bird who is very intelligent but is quite sharp witted. So, they are negatively looked upon as sly and devious.)
