What happened to Bonnie and Stefan, and if they can even be saved, remains a mystery. Meanwhile, their beloved hometown of Mystic Falls continues to be a magic-free zone, protected by a seemingly harmless community watch program.

If there's any hope of salvaging their former lives, our heroes must find a way to push through their grief and band together.

Ellie tries to come to terms with the loss, denial, and what it means to move on in the face of immortality, ultimately begging the age-old question - can you ever really go home again? And will she ever get the love of her life back?

Knowing she couldn't survive eternity without the love of her life by her side Ellie makes the decision to have Alaric compel her love for Stefan, knowing that was the only way she was gonna survive eternity without him.

Based on season Four of TVD... It began with the acknowledgement that everything for Ellie Gilbert has changed. She's in transition into a vampire. Into something she never wanted to be. Stefan and Damon are torn even further apart over how to help Ellie adjust to a life she never wanted. On top of that, everyone has to cope with the chaos Alaric created when he outed the vampires and their supporters to the Mystic Falls Council and local church leaders. Despite everything that has happened to them, Elena, Ellie, and their friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths, they feel the bond to their home town of Mystic Falls take on a deeper meaning when a new mysterious villain is introduced who seems intent on destroying it. Stefan isn't too happy when he finds out whose blood it was that turned Ellie into a vampire... Damon and Elena grow close. Despite being vampires, Stefan and Ellie work together to help her control her thirst, and she admits she still loves him. And he wants to find her the cure to turn her back into a human. And the newly human Katherine struggled with mortality and motherhood. Stefan's relationship with Ellie is put to the test when Enzo, an old vampire friend from Damon's past, reveals he's still alive and looking for some revenge. Stefan, Ellie, and Caroline's friendship deepened as they stood up to the Traveler's, a nomadic witch tribe led by the ruthless Markos, who are driven to strip Mystic Falls of magic and cast out all of its supernatural residents. Finally, having lost their town and fearing losing their loved ones on the imploding other side. Ellie makes the decision that she wasn't leaving Stefan on the other side. Marie Salvatore. Turned in 1864, at the age of 25, the day after seeing both her brothers die for saving the woman they thought they loved. After being away from home for the better part of the last century and a half, she and her twin brother return to Mystic Falls, which in turn reunites them with their younger brother. What neither her, nor Stefan could have known about Damon's diabolical plan, so now she must choose a side. Her twin brother that has done no wrong to her since they turned, or her younger brother and his human girlfriend with an eerie resemblance to her ex best friend. This is gonna be a long story...
