A New Heir

It was a dark day in the kingdom of Everglen, a time of transition, for their old king had just died. It was a time of mourning for their old king and a time of fear, for they didn't know what to do with their heir. The king did have a son, a young man by the name of Prince James. He was intelligent and sly, and had friends from across the land, but was wanted in multiple kingdoms for murder theft and other crimes as such. He had tried to inherit, but the king knew the people would revolt if he was named king so the king made sure he couldn't inherit.
