Melistis is a livable planet, far away from Earth. Earth has already sent people of all sorts to build a new community. Eloise is a geologist has been sent with the second wave of new citizens, five years after the start of the program.
When a new project is underway, Eloise discovers evidence of an older society, previously unknown to the colonists from Earth. The heads of the project pay this no mind, and continue on. When things began to go wrong in the colony, Eloise is pinned as the troublemaker, and taken off of the project. In order to right the wrongs done by the colonists, Eloise and her friends must discover the truth of the hidden society and return peace to Melistis.
